TeamKids: Strengthening Our Child Safety Framework
At TeamKids, child safety is not just a compliance requirement, it’s the foundation of everything we do. Over the past year, we’ve taken deliberate steps to strengthen and centralise our approach to child safety through a new Child Safety Framework, led by our dedicated Child Safety Manager and a cross-functional working group.
What We’ve Put in Place
- Child Safety Committee – bringing oversight and accountability to every level.
- Enhanced Recruitment & Screening – ensuring only the right people are working with children.
- Updated Policies – including Child Interactions and Behaviour Guidance, setting clear expectations for safe and respectful engagement.
- New Induction & Training – embedding child safety as a priority from day one, supported with practical resources for staff.
- Listening to Our Teams – launching our first organisation-wide survey, which showed strong staff confidence in recognising harm and trust in leaders to act.
Continuous Improvement
Our Framework isn’t a one-off project, it’s a living system designed to keep improving. Already, we’re building in more scenario-based training, greater transparency around reporting processes, and regular communication with staff to keep safety front of mind.
What This Means for Schools
For our Principal partners, this means:
- A stronger assurance that every staff member is thoroughly screened, trained, and supported.
- Confidence that TeamKids is continually lifting standards and going beyond compliance.
- A genuine partnership in creating safe, supportive environments where children can thrive.
